Should an Aquatron® STP smell during normal operation?
The product description says solids stay in a sealed bio-chamber rather than open wet sludge, and describes the dry bio-chamber as odour-free. That describes the intended operating condition, not a diagnosis of every smell anywhere in a building. Unexpected or persistent odour needs a site-specific inspection.
What should I record before reporting an STP smell?
From a safe location, note whether the smell is near drains, tanks, the separator, bio-chamber or liquid-treatment equipment. Record when it began, whether it is constant or intermittent, and any recent changes in occupancy, wastewater inputs, power supply or servicing. Share these observations with the service team.
Can I fix the smell by adding chemicals or opening the chamber?
Do not make unapproved process or dosing changes. Do not open or enter treatment tanks or the bio-chamber to investigate on your own; sewage areas can present serious hazards. Restrict access to affected areas if needed and contact a qualified technician. If anyone feels unwell, move to a safe area and seek emergency assistance.
Does a smell prove that the treatment technology has failed?
Not by itself. Odour may be associated with plumbing, incoming wastewater, site conditions or treatment operation. Its cause cannot be confirmed from a general FAQ. A service assessment should review the whole installation, rather than assuming the separator or any one technology is responsible.
Can an existing STP be retrofitted to Aquatron®?
India Water Systems offers retrofit assessments for underperforming STPs. The site describes a 50 KLD WeWork Gurgaon retrofit as a project example. Whether your plant can be upgraded depends on the existing layout, plumbing, flow and treatment requirements; do not assume the same scope, savings or outcome before inspection.
What information helps the retrofit team assess my plant?
Provide the site location, current technology and capacity, typical sewage flow if known, available drawings, intended reuse, recent maintenance history and any water-quality reports. Include the odour observations and your phone number when contacting India Water Systems.
