Can every MBBR or SBR plant be retrofitted to Aquatron®?
No universal compatibility is established by the published product details. India Water Systems offers retrofit assessments and describes a 50 KLD Gurgaon project, but that example does not identify the previous treatment technology. Treat it as evidence of one reported retrofit, not an MBBR or SBR conversion specification. A designer must assess your flow, influent, layout, plumbing and treatment targets before confirming feasibility.
What information should I send before requesting a survey?
Send the plant's current technology and rated capacity, measured flow if available, incoming wastewater sources, drawings, recent inlet and outlet reports, maintenance history and intended reuse or discharge. Explain the problem you want resolved, such as odour or unreliable output. Include site photographs taken safely, location and contact details. Ask the assessment team to identify missing information rather than quote from capacity alone.
Which MBBR-specific questions should the designer answer?
For an MBBR plant, ask the designer to assess the existing biological tanks, carrier media, aeration, solids separation and controls against the proposed separation-first treatment train. Which components remain, change duty or become unnecessary? These are survey questions, not published Aquatron acceptance criteria. Do not approve removal of equipment until the designer documents downstream treatment needs, the condition of retained assets and the basis for expected performance.
Which SBR-specific questions should the designer answer?
For an SBR plant, request a review of batch operating cycles, tank availability, aeration, decanting, controls and incoming-flow management. Ask how any retained tanks and equipment would operate within the proposed treatment arrangement. The site provides no universal SBR conversion design. A designer must establish whether reuse of these assets is technically appropriate and document the revised hydraulic and treatment basis before you commit.
What plumbing and civil conditions could affect feasibility?
The separation stage depends on flush energy and gravity, so ask for checks of toilet-stream routing, source separation, pipe levels, slopes, bends and connections. The survey should also assess tank condition, structural suitability, bio-chamber location, ventilation and service access. Existing mixed drainage cannot simply be assumed suitable unchanged. Require drawings showing the proposed connections and all downstream treatment, with civil and plumbing responsibilities clearly allocated.
Can the work happen without interrupting treatment?
The reported occupied-building retrofit does not guarantee uninterrupted work at another site. Ask for a site-specific changeover plan covering any shutdown, temporary wastewater management, isolation, commissioning and contingency arrangements. Any proposed bypass or temporary discharge needs review against applicable permissions; it is not an automatic option. Agree who remains responsible for sewage management and treatment performance during each stage, without assuming a standard installation schedule.
How should I accept the retrofit and arrange ongoing support?
Agree acceptance tests against the written design basis, influent conditions and site-specific treatment targets. Request commissioning records, final drawings, equipment instructions and water-quality reports. Published Gurgaon laboratory results are project examples, not regulatory limits or guaranteed outcomes. Low maintenance is not maintenance-free: assign responsibility for bio-chamber, downstream treatment, filter and UV checks, and specify service exclusions, consumables and support arrangements in writing.
